Mark E. Schneiter, CPA

Mark E. Schneiter is the president of the firm Schneiter & Moad, CPAs, PC. Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. Mark and Judie, his wife of 40 years, have been residents of Alaska since 1982 and enjoy traveling around the world and around our great State. Mark is an avid skiier and golfer and participates in volunteer events within the golfing community. He is a certified public accountant with over forty years of experience. Mr. Schneiter has served as president of the Alaska Society of CPAs on two occasions, is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, and has chaired the Professional Education and Taxation Committees for the Alaska Society of CPAs. He has lectured on tax-related topics for the CPA Society as well as other accounting organizations. He has served as an adjunct professor of tax and accounting for the University of Alaska and was Alaska's representative at liaison meetings between CPAs and the Internal Revenue Service at the local, regional and national levels. He has earned the Distinguished Service Award from the Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jantina Earnest

Jantina Earnest joined our firm in 2005. In addition to being the office manager and general "do-everything" Jantina is also proficient with Quickbooks, payroll, and tax preparation. Jantina moved to Alaska in 1979 and graduated from East Anchorage High School. She attended the University of Alaska Anchorage and earned an associate's degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

Dominique E. Kurth, CPA

Dominique came to work at Schneiter & Moad in July of 2018. She grew up in Anchorage and moved to the lower 48 in her early 20s to capture adventures living in Utah, Oregon, and Hawaii. During the late 90s, she returned to Anchorage for a couple of years and was hired as a receptionist by a local CPA. She left for Oregon again, but in 2003 returned permanently to Alaska after concluding there is no substitute for the abundant opportunities our great State provides. After a few years of working a variety of jobs and building a bookkeeping client base, she decided to return to college to secure a more stable career with upward mobility in accounting. She graduated from UAA in Spring 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting and Finance. She excelled in her studies and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honor society that recognizes top-performing students. Dominique was active in the Accounting Club during her time at UAA, serving as Vice President for one term, encouraging and mentoring younger students along the way. In June of 2018, she became a licensed CPA in Alaska. She kept in touch with that local CPA throughout her early career and time at UAA. He pushed her to achieve more, a bachelor's degree instead of an associate, and then to go even further to meet the requirements to become a CPA. Eventually, she was rewarded with her license and a position working with that local CPA, Mark Schneiter. Full circle, 22 years later, she is learning about providing boutique tax advisory services to small businesses and their owners in our community from one of the most knowledgeable CPAs in our State. Mark’s example of perseverance and dedication to our profession continues to push Dominique as she follows in his footsteps and becomes active in our local CPA society, keeping her on track while our profession grows and adapts to the challenges faced by our profession in the years to come.

Erik West, CPA

Erik then graduated from UW-L for the second time with an MBA Degree in 2007. He has over 21 years of accounting experience primarily in public and private accounting, with additional experiences in the governmental sector, as well as being self-employed as an Interim Controller for a short period of time. Erik was the Treasurer of the Missoula Lions Club from June 2019 to April 2022. Erik was born and raised in La Crosse, Wisconsin, then moved to Missoula, Montana in 2007. He then finally made his way to Anchorage in April 2022. Along with him, Erik brought his wife and two children to Alaska, and they are all die-hard Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fans.

Sandra L. Quinones

Sandra Quinones joined our firm in December 2016 as our Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. After many years of traveling the world as a "military brat," Sandra drove up the Alcan (Alaska/Canada) Highway from South Dakota in December 1978 and never left (vacations do not count). Sandra spent many years working for a law firm in downtown Anchorage before working just as many years for a local beverage/liquor distributor in midtown and then landing here at Schneiter & Moad. Sandra enjoys being creative (arts, crafts, sewing, photography, you name it) and has spent many a summer Saturday selling her creative wares at the Muldoon Farmers Market.
